Sustainability Policy
For nearly 90 years, the Zorn Collections have managed and displayed the artworks, buildings, and environments donated to the Swedish state by Anders and Emma Zorn. The staff of the Zorn Collections have always felt a deep sense of responsibility for this task. Long before any policy documents were written, previous employees faced decisions and challenges that fall under the concept of “long-term sustainability.” These included questions of public accessibility versus the wear and tear of a fragile cultural heritage, as well as how to run a responsible operation within given financial limits.
The Zorn Collections aim to continue serving as a model for long-term sustainability. The institution’s work shall contribute to achieving the global goals of Agenda 2030 and Sweden’s national environmental objectives. In concrete terms, this means preserving and displaying the Zorn Collections’ cultural heritage without negative environmental impact.
Sustainability efforts are integrated into all areas of operation, and every employee shares responsibility. The Zorn Collections operate according to the six principles of the Swedish state’s core values: democracy, legality, objectivity, transparency, respect, and power and service. The institution strives to ensure that all employees are well informed about these values and that all applicable environmental and sustainability laws and regulations are followed.
