Children’s Midsummer

For more than 50 years, the Zorn Museum has celebrated Swedish Midsummer at Zorn’s Gammelgård June 23, at 2 p.m. Children are then welcome to pick flowers for the maypole wreaths in the surroundings, and to carry the wreaths to the pole. Once the maypole has been raised, dances to live folk music follow.

According to tradition, we celebrate Children’s Midsummer every year at 2 pm, 23 June, at Zorn’s gammelgård in Mora. Festivities begin with the children picking flowers in the surrounding meadows. Then we line up and follow the fiddler to the maypole. Once it has been raised (by Mummies and Daddies) it’s time for the dancing. Afterwards, the children get some light refreshment and biscuits. You are welcome to bring your own picnic.
